SLE doubles heart risk

Women with systemic lupus erythematosus have a more than twofold increased risk of cardiovascular disease, researchers report. The study of almost 120,000 women followed for 28 years found that SLE was associated with a 2.26-fold increased risk of a cardiovascular event. The authors said it was unclear whether whether SLE itself or its treatment increases CV risk.  ...
