All alendronate (Fosamax) formulations are now available on the PBS for patients with osteoporosis aged 70 years or older with a BMD T-score -2.5 or less and no prior fracture.
The expansion of reimbursement criteria has changed from the old criteria using a BMD T-Score of -3.0 or less, manufacturer MSD said in a statement.
